I was there at Wembley, with a German work colleague, who was also a member of the 1860 club. I was 20 years old.
Great night out and he bought the drinks and the meal.
It was my second final in a row, as I was there for the FA cup and, a year later, for the World Cup victory.

Love that, ‘tips

I was 2 and had but a right tasty crew together, but the cunty plod wouldn't let us on the plane as we didn't have passports and our nappies (which we intended to weaponise) were rank.

I was nine years of age and can remember the night well. I remember bubbles being sound very loud and the clap/West Ham chant. Coming out all the kids were passed above the heads of the grown ups, I remember that clearly, what a night.

Byrne didn’t play in the 1965 ECWC final.
Dear played up front replacing the injured Budgie.

I had four tickets for the match. Two pairs, one for me and my mate the other for our fathers. Along with thousands of others we went by coaches ( Lacy’s ) which we picked up in Ilford Lane, Barking. Hugely entertaining and enjoyable game played in a way that neutrals remembered too as being up there with the best of matches.
To this day I cannot remember the journey home or how I got to work the next day.

I meant to add that back in those days the European competitions were straight knock out two legged affairs and that is a format that to this day I much prefer.

I'm sure I read that this was the very first European club match broadcast live across the continent
That, and the way the game was played, gave us a lasting legacy of affection across the globe
Of course, a year later only cemented those feelings

Oh what could have been

Went with three mates straight from work.Tickets were easy to get back then and it was kind of taken for granted we would win. As back then that's what we did at Wembley

My grandad was at the 1923 cup final, dad went to 1964, 1965 and 1966 finals and I've been to the rest since then.
Dad went to loads of finals at Wembley and always said the 1965 one was the best he saw.
